In towns where mail slots in front doors are common for receiving mail, there is a comfort and energy crisis. Nobody has come up with the bullet proof, one size fits all solution for allowing mail to come through the mail slot while adequately blocking drafts. It sounds like it should have been an easy problem to solve but it was not. Our competive analysis document shows ther are only about 4 types of solutions and each has major flaws or drawbacks.
I've known about this problem since the late 1990s. I started working on prototypes very part time in 2015 because nobody else had solved it properly, and it's now 2025. If it was easy it would have been done by others long before me.
I initially came up with a "logical design" that included a hinged flap system and a seal. Finding the right combination of material for that was surprisingly difficult. it has to do with getting a good fit between material and seal with just the right force to create a seal. AFter months of futzing in 2025, and mastery of a new machine and new material a design was hatched that seemed "good enough". And it was only after that, and after familiarity with the new material and machines was had, that another even ore simple design arose.
We are working on that now, and when we launch, both options will likely be available, as the original design is a little more aesthetically pleasing but more costly to make. .
From a functional perspective, these solutions far surpasses anything else on the market now and nothing new has been introduced since the 2000's due to the nuances of this application. Please see our Competitive Analysis page to understand how this compares to other products.
TBC - We'll update this page more as the design and product launch progresses.

Features:
Heavy Duty Aluminum Hinge
Custom 1/8" aluminum faced, plastic core sign material that allows for the slight bending of the material to create and optimal seal
Bolt on front and back plate vs adhesive, such that no adhesion issues or flap wear should affect the flap
8mm D shaped rubber seal
Commercial magnet with screw on core so again, no adhesive to break off. if the magnet force is too strong, it can be adjusted with a piece of electrical tape or you can change out the washers under it to change the spacing a little.
The knob on the front plate actually doubles as a weight to help the door to close and the knob screw is what is attracted to the magnet to keep the door closed. latch to the magnet.

We currently offer 1 size - and that is for openigns that are approximately 11.5" x 2.75"
